Governor Amado T. Espino political strength dwindles ….

Espino’s 3rdnd term political fight was best described political smooth sailing or maybe likened to an eagle swiftly flying from the sky and harshly picking up with its sharp claws the chick from the ground of Lingayen and easily devoured it. But this swift picking and panangan was not done overnight albeit with smart planning and perfect execution. From an all out implementation of programs on all aspect of governance into delivery of quality public services, into health specially , construction/renovation of hospital buildings or rooms, purchase of hospital equipments and medicines for the poor, into programs alleviating poverty. All of these were manifested in his effort to serve Pangasinense. This tremendous effort, in turn, has persuaded them to throw back huge political support and trust with a more than half million votes edged over his opponent in 2013 that easily catapulted him in his 3rd term of office. But more than that is a long term planning, preparation and maneuverings including party affiliation and manipulation of nationalist people’s coalition, the political party which his political allies( majority of all Pangasinan Mayors ) to whom they enter and took allegiance upon his instruction, too. At the start there was an alliance with the ABONOPartylist. Subsequently, by using the ABONOPartylist of Engr. Rosendo So- Founding Chairman in which Eduardo “Danding” Cojuangco’s NPC Pangasinan are allies became Espino’s political movers. But after majority of political leaders and allies was basically under the control of Gov. Espino there were only a few lame -duck political leaders/ remnants who could hardly or equally launch a formidable team against Gov Espines, the Abono Partylist and the incumbent mayors who are loyal and some are frightened to show their genuine political leanings because of the probable reprisals. But more importantly the accomplishments under Governor Espines administration speaks louder of the fact of how far the Province of Pangasinan has reached.

His political maneuverings in the barangays/alliance with big political leaders thru his son Liga ng mga Barangay President Amado “POGI” Espino for them to stay i8n power in the guise to continue public service.

On the issue of Provincial Board Members who recently resigned from their political party, the Nationalist People’s Coalition, for them to have a free hand purportedly to choose their candidates for Governor in 2016. However, this act of SPMs bolting away from NPC to give full pledge and allegiance to Governor Amado T. Espino who obviously shall push his son Liga ng mga Barangay President Amado “POGI” Espino III for Governor in 2016.

A veteran political analyst observes that Governor Espino is figuratively and literally an incumbent political lameduck “kwak kwak kwak kak” because his term of office expires on June 30, 2016. The instruction for ally Provincial Board Members in resigning from their political party, the Nationalist People”s coalition which is headed by Former Ambassador/Businessman Eduardo “Danding” Conjuanco, the father of former congressman Mark Cojuangco who declares his candidacy for governorship in the Province of Pangasinan in 2016 national elections. Governor Espino is in a hurry…..to exit. Such resignation only complicates matter. He wants to extract a position of bargaining power. When bargaining he is just only placing his seat higher to take advantage of the situation. But how can he extract an advantage political bargaining power, he can do that to ordinary political leader but cannot do that to the Cojuangcos. The past 2013 elections has shown the patent weakness of Governor Espino. Remember when GIBO Teodoro ran for President in 2010 with all his P1 Billion national disaster infrastructure (NDCC) funds supported by Governor Espines, yet received least votes, number 4 only in the Province of Pangasinan. Hence, cannot deliver so much votes needed by a Presidential aspirant. Noticeably, when Vice-President Jejomar Binay visited Pangasinan recently, there was no strong political structure to rely on. His network could not deliver votes. Governor Espines” political strength has been cracked. Whatever the political invincibility and myth of Governor Espino was already cracked. And this crack will be finally shuttered down by Mark Cojuangco. Although with all his retired colonels implementer and campaign strategists could not equate that of Col.  Marlou Chan’s capabilities. But Mark Cojuangco will be facing a formidable problem, that is, where will Cojuangco get another or find one like Col. Marlou Chan??? Additionally, Engr Rosendo So might not be fit as his campaign manager because he has the temerity to loudly shout whenever he give political money to leaders as if he controls them when they receive huge or small amounts in exchange for political favors or support He should give more due respect to these leaders.
