Vice Mayor Catalino L. Morales And SB Approves Official Date Of Town Fiesta

Mapandan, Pangasinan—The sangguniang Bayan of Mapandan through its Presiding Officer Vice-Mayor Catalino L. Morales, Jr. has calendared the letter request of Mayor Maximo M. Calimlim, Jr. to approve a resolution of the proposed schedule ofMapandan Town Fiesta 2014.Likewise,a letter request by the Mapandanians Association of America to the Sangguniang Bayan to fix said schedule.

Consequently, a public consultation meeting was held on September 5, 2014 inviting all sectors of the communityand its result was reported to Mayor Calimlim on September 12, 2014. Further hearings were deferred by Sangguniang Bayan Member Leopoldo C. Biagtan and Gerald L. Tambaoan for appropriate comment by the chief executive of town’s fiesta (Mayor Calimlim).

Hence, a letter was sent to Vice-Mayor Morales,Jr. and  Sangguniang Bayan Members to consider the official date of 2015 Mapandan Town Fiesta which is April 14-19, 2014 due to the following reasons, to wit;the Kabaleyan’s are expecting the month of April as the date of official celebration because if  it would be celebrated on the month of March requires a lot of paper works which is the period of finals among students and computation of grades by teachers who are mostly contributory to the success of town’s fiesta; It requires a long preparation, time and effort.  As a result, the Sangguniang Bayan approved April 14-19, 2014 as the official date of town’s fiesta.

Meanwhile, the Mapandanian’s Association of America donates $10,000.00 as a result of the visit of Vice-Mayor Morales and Vice-Governor Ferdinand Calimlim, Jr. to the municipality purposely to construct     bleachers in the public plaza. As of press time, the local officials are finding ways and meansto channel in the amount through a trust fund of the municipality. This would be a new improvement of the town’s plaza as people usually stays there during late afternoon.
